Welcome to the Southend, Argyll Community Website.
The village of Southend lies at the end of the Kintyre Peninsula only 13 miles from Ireland. It has a unique and varied history spanning thousands of years, beautiful coastal scenery, bird and wildlife, a large seal colony viewed from Keil shore with neolithic caves, a magnificent 18 hole links golf course and is the start (or end) of the Kintyre Way (105 miles) opened in 2006.
The famous "St. Columba's Footsteps", etched in the rock for centuries, show where Christianity was first brought to Scotland from Ireland.
